The Spirit of Volunteerism
How can You help?

Many people are called to volunteer.  The heart of their philosophy is touching lives and giving back to the community that gave them nourishment, a community of which they are an integral part. They tend to focus less on "self" and more on the needs of others. Hospice volunteers are a unique group among such individuals.

The lifeblood of BACA must be volunteer service as we seek to provide end-of-life care to Barbadians and others.  Research shows some personal benefits to those who volunteer– benefits to mental health, a sense of well-being, bonding between volunteer and patient that is mutually beneficial.

BACA volunteers may include professionals in various disciplines, healthcare trainees incorporating practice into their daily routine, those with special skills interested in community service, and nursing professionals willing to offer a few hours a week.
